Guitar – Playing and Teaching
As a guitarist I have played as a professional musician and entertainer for more than 40 years including many years touring the United States and Canada. Over the years I have learned literally 1000’s of songs so I’m aware of the chords and strumming rhythms that are used over and over again.
During the non-touring years I’ve taught several hundreds of private guitar students and I still continue to teach private lessons.
I am also a sales consultant for a music store chain in Eastern Canada. This gives me the first hand opportunity to evaluate guitar method books. While there are several excellent books that will teach you notes and how to play “lead” guitar, there is a severe shortage of easy to understand, step-by-step instructions for strumming the guitar.
If you are and absolute beginner or novice, these books will quickly and easily take you beyond where you are today. These books don’t require a teacher. They are designed to be teach yourself guitar books
